I particularly like the writing as it doubles up as story and also a script. It has scenic quality underlying, camera spanning on details, facial expressions, walks through the room and then a street in little Italy and a bar scene, you, sitting at the counter going through the four purchased drinks to reach the freebie one. Well rendered!
First I was like what's even going on here ... If I get close enough to this world, it will become mine. Is that the core ... then you revealed it ... “Things were changing, but I was not.” and continue on with building new memories with new lens. Cool!
This is so cinematic... every detail feels like a scene in a film. I love how you move through these snapshots of memory, from the apartment to the bars to the lens of sobriety. It all feels beautifully layered.
I love your analogy that memories belong on walls. I can't wait to read your memoir when you're done, we're all in for a treat. The colour and life you inject into your writing is cinematic and has a quality of a film. Love it!
You don't need the confidence. You're very very good. I used to feel like that but there will come a time when you own how good you are and I pray that time is NOW.
Well done! I agree with Jean-Francoise how this feels part movie script part memoir—love it. Plus I can only imagine the behind the scenes stories you have. Did you get to meet McQueen??

Thank you JF!
I was scared that the rich finance guy would turn out to be Jeffrey Epstein! Haha. Really vivid and incredible writing. I loved reading it ❤️
Thank you Munia! Lol- thankfully not JE, phew.

thank you for your support Gaby. You always say such kind words and it gives me confidence to keep writing!

Ok damn! I’m taking this as a sign Gaby 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Yes, you heard. NOW, own it NOW. You're writing your memoir live and it's bloody awesome.

Ha! No I wish, just the guy that created that famous runway show, Simon. I have worked with quite a few celebs and entertainers from that era though.
Darn it.. regardless I am sure your stories are ones for the books! Those were the good old days.
Ah, YES! pre smartphone days- I think there is a coincidence in there somewhere, plus NYC then was special!
Pre smart phones .. dream days really. And you are right, NYC was special then .. a little seedy but magical—and with amazing house music!
Oh gosh I love this. So well written. A piece of your story artistically written and placed.
